Pasumecha was born of a journey — a journey filled with love, discovery and a deep passion for authentic flavors.
It all began on a trip to Veracruz, Cristely’s native state in Mexico. She introduced me to the rich culture and gastronomy of her region. Of all the unforgettable dishes I tasted, one in particular stood out: the famous macha salsa. Its intense, smoky, spicy flavor won me over completely. It was a revelation.


Back in Montreal, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Cristely and I decided to recreate it at home. We prepared a large batch, and as we tasted it, an idea came to us: what if we shared this delicious creation with others?
What started out as a simple hobby soon became much more. Our friends and family loved it. Word of mouth had an effect. Orders started pouring in. Little by little, our passion turned into a small business.
Four years later, encouraged by our growing customer base, we decided to take the next step. We’ve rethought our image with a fresh, attractive look, and a clear mission: to share our unique, tasty macha salsa with as many people as possible.

We called it Pasumecha – a Mexican expression Cristely taught me. It’s used to express surprise or wonder, when something exceeds expectations. That’s exactly what we want to convey with our salsa: an experience that goes beyond taste.
